CPU

A CPU (Central Processing Unit) is the primary processor in a computer, often referred to as the "brain of the computer." It executes instructions from programs, performs calculations, and manages data flow between hardware and software. Main Components of a CPU Arithmetic Logic Unit (ALU): Performs arithmetic operations (addition, subtraction, etc.) and logical operations (AND, OR, NOT). Control Unit (CU): Fetches, decodes, and directs the execution of instructions. Registers: Small, high-speed memory locations that temporarily store data and instructions.
